The Lorenzo Motor Lodge is the perfect place to stay if you're sightseeing.
There are some wonderful day tours to see the sites of the city. We can help you book these at reception. The day trips to Akaroa (originally settled by the French) takes around 75 minutes. Alternatively Hanmer Springs (with great walks and hot spring pools) will take you about 1 hour 40 minutes. These two picturesque towns are easily accessible from Christchurch. You can self drive or we can arrange a shuttle bus for you.

We have invested in a 24 hour/7 day Anytime Fitness membership and when you stay with us you will have 24 hour access to the gym which is situated virtually straight across the road from Lorenzo Motor Lodge. Please ask at reception for directions.

Christchurch The Garden City
Lorenzo Motor Lodge is walking distance to both Hagley Park and The Botanic Gardens both of which stand up to the Garden City's reputation as one of the best botanical tourist destinations in the world.
Awarded the Ellerslie International Flower Show from Auckland, Christchurch played host for the first time in March 2009. This colourful event takes place around the second week in March and if the first two years are anything to go by, then 2011 will be a great spectacular. Christchurch is the major link to the Antarctic Continent where the majority of flights depart for the ice. As such the Antarctic Centre located near the airport is the Worlds best Antarctic attraction. Here you can 'get up close and personal with the world's smallest penguin'.
The Gondola on the Port Hills, the Christchurch Tram and Punting on the Avon are just a few attractions that the City has to offer.
As Christchurch is the largest city in the South Island, many cultural, musical or sporting events take place in the city. Westpac Arena, Christchurch Convention Centre, Christchurch Town Hall and James Hay Theatre and AMI Stadium are the major event centres. Events
Christchurch is famous for it's many events and festivals appealing to the interests of a wide range of people.
As part of the annual events that come to Christchurch, January is the time to see the World Buskers Festival. A wide range of talented people from many countries throughout the world will entertain you throughout the day and night around the centre of the city.
The internationally renowned Ellerslie Flower Show is held in March and
always draws great crowds. The event received wide spread praise from
visitors. Lorenzo is just 10 minutes walk to the show. If you would like us
to pre-book your tickets for any of the days then please just ask. Having
just concluded, the next show will be in 2011.
